In the early 1100s, a wealthy Flemish nobleman named Freskin settled in West Lothian, Scotland, under King David I. In 1130, Freskin helped the King put down an uprising in the province of Moray. As a reward, he was gifted vast lands in that northern territory. The name De Moravia has its origins all the way back to about 1210 with the birth of William de Moravia, 1st Earl of Sutherland. King Alexander II created the 1st Earl of Sutherland in 1235 and William is recognized as the inaugural chief of Clan Sutherland in Northern Scotland. His son, William de Moravia, 2nd Earl of Sutherland was born in 1235 and died in 1307. Because land was the ultimate symbol of power in the Middle Ages, Freskin’s family used the Latinized region name de Moravia (meaning “of Moray”) to solidify their new identity. Over centuries, the name evolved into two famous Scottish surnames: The Murrays: Freskin’s descendants, like William de Moravia, began dropping the “de Moravia” in favor of “Murray”. The Clan Murray remains one of Scotland’s most prominent families today.
Today, one of the descendants of the De Moravia/Murray clan, R. Charles Murray, CEO, formed the De Moravia Contract Packing LLC company in the middle of 2025. The De Moravia Contract Packing LLC company is a member of the PakSource Global Group of Companies. De Moravia has three companies: ShotPaQ LLC, responsible for wine, malt and spirit licensed Redi-2-DrinQ beverages; De Moravia Wellness responsible for healthy waters and safe for human and pets insect repellents and Redi-2-PaQ Home Products LLC responsible for contract packing of its own products as well as customer products.
